Sedation
Glendair can offer a variety of techniques to help the anxious and phobic dental patient. Several members of the team are capable of using intravenous sedation where a drug is given directly into a vein which not only makes patients feel drowsy but also usually makes the fear of treatment disappear and dulls the memory of the events of treatment.
We are also able to offer Relative Analgesia which is an inhalation technique somewhat similar to 'gas and air'.
To try to ensure your safety when using sedation, all the dentists in the team and Joy Vardy hold current Resuscitation Council Advanced Life Support Certificates.
Special Services
When you arrange your first appointment, please inform us if you have any special needs.
If you are disabled or have difficulty with the stairs, we can arrange for you to be seen in a downstairs surgery. Please note that we do not have any toilet facilities in our Alfreton surgery.
Modern dentistry leaves little to be anxious about. However, we place great importance on care and understanding and can use additional relaxation techniques for particularly nervous patients.
When seeing children, we try to focus on preventing dental disease by offering oral hygiene instruction, fissure sealants and fluoride treatment where appropriate.
Implant Dentistry
Implants are the most modern and natural means to restore missing and failing teeth. They allow teeth to be replaced with 'new teeth'. There is no effect on the adjacent teeth, and provide the ultimate function and smile. This short presentation will guide you through the options and benefits of implant treatment. Dermal Fillers/Restylane
Restylane adds volume to skin without affecting your natural expression and the results are seen instantly. It is a natural beauty lift giving long lasting and natural enhancement. It improves looks by enhancing facial profile and smoothing out lines and wrinkles. Restylane is non-permanent, it is naturally absorbed over time and its effects usually last from 6 months to over a year.
Botox/Vistabel Hyperactivity of the facial muscles causes the development of frown lines. forehead lines and/or Crow's feet. Vistabel reduces contractions of the muscles responsible for wrinkle formation. The wrinkles become smoother or may disappear altogether giving the face a more relaxed and pleasant appearance especially in the forehead area. Botox injection effects can usually be seen within 48-72 hours. This is maximal in about 14 days and lasts approximately 4-6 months.
