Is Botox® Only Used to Treat Wrinkles? | Flawless at Glendair
The short answer is no! Anti-wrinkle injections have actually been used since the 1980s for many medical purposes other than just treating wrinkles.
These include severe muscle spasms or involuntary muscle contractions, such as in calf muscles in cerebral palsy or blinking of the eyelids (blepharospasm).
It can also be used for over-toned chewing muscles in the face to ease temporo-mandibular joint and muscle pain. You can read my blog post by clicking here, to find out how I stopped the pain caused by grinding my teeth.
Plus, it can be used to improve severe perspiration in the armpits (axillary hyperhidosis) or on the palms of the hands (palmar hyperhidrosis)! Recently our dental nurse Sophie has had this treatment done. She decided to document her experience in a video diary which you can watch below!
